Dead Reynolds - Met Lounge, Peterborough
First proper shoot with the Canon R6 Mk2.
I was offered the chance to photograph these guys at a venue I had wanted to shoot for a while and although it was a busy weekend I wasn't going miss the opportunity.
The venue is quite small so I knew i would be ok with just the Ef 24-70 F2.8 on the adapter on the front of the R6 and it was a brilliant chance to try out the new camera. I had already set up a couple of custom shooting modes, auto focus settings and general file management options.
I did take the speedlight as well although it is generally accepted you don't use flash photography on the bands during the show.
As soon as I started shooting I was amazed at the amount of light the R6 was finding and how fast the autofocus was locking onto the subjects. I had the AF set up on two different back buttons, one was spot AF where I had moved the AF point top the top of the frame. The second was Eye Tracking, which locked onto the persons eye and pulled focus almost instantly. The flashing lights of the event sometimes confused it.
I tend to shoot full manual and i was constantly finding I could bring the ISO down compared to the 6D which produced cleaner, sharper images. Mostly I was shooting at ISO 1600 rather than the 6400 on the 6D

I had a brilliant time with these guys, the show was fabulous, the camera was beyond all expectations and once again I learned loads.
